Bikan Octain M.D. graduated from medical school at the age of 22, making him one of the youngest graduates in his class. He received specialized training in Family Medicine from Wake Forest University, Bowman’s School of Medicine, and started his private practice in Annandale, Virginia in the summer of 1991.
Over his 25+ years of private practice experience, Dr. Octain has treated patients of all ages, from newborns to seniors well in their 90s… His practice has grown to serve many families who have been returning to his care for over 3 generations and in some cases even 4 generations. When asked what the most satisficing aspect of practicing medicine, Dr. Octain answers with the opportunity to care for and watch young families grow directly in front of him. Many of his patients also bring their parents and then eventually start to make their own family and bring in their children. It is quite a bond that forms when we are able to tell a patient that we treated your mom or dad as a child in same exam room.
While pursuing his love for family medicine, Dr. Octain also explored his special interest in aesthetic medicine. He is able to offer his patients specialized care for anti-aging, skin health and wellness. He launched his Laser Hair Restoration Center to provide revolutionary, non-invasive laser hair therapy and utilize advanced placement of platelet rich plasma (PRP) for the purpose of promoting hair growth. Dr. Octain gained certification to offer several Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapies for his patients, including those for hair loss, the Vampire Facelift, O-shot, Priapus shot, and Vampire Breast Lifts.
Dr. Octain has received several awards and recognitions through his rich medical career. In 2004 the Consumer’s Research Council of America selected him as one of “America’s Top Family Physician” and again in 2015. In 2012 and 2013, he received the “Patients Choice Award” for being one of Virginia’s favorite Physicians by Vitals. Vitals also selected him as one of “Most Compassionate Doctors” of 2013. The American Medical Association has awarded him with the “Physician Recognition Award” for five years from 2013 to 2016 and again from 2016 to 2018.
Dr. Octain lives in Clifton, VA with his two boys and wife. He has a passion for helping the underserved and has been an avid participant in the Northern Virginia health community. His philosophy is that everyone should have access to affordable healthcare.
